Northeast Leads U.S. in Gas-Fired Power Maintenance through June



March 30, 2026–Written by Will Ploch, Assistant Editor-in-Chief for IIR News Intelligence (Sugar Land, Texas)–U.S. natural gas consumption averaged a record 92 billion cubic feet per day in 2025, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), and operators are trying to keep their plants in the best shape to accommodate demand. Industrial Info is tracking nearly 100 maintenance-related projects at U.S. natural gas-fired power plants that are set to begin in the second quarter, with Constellation Energy and subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway accounting for more than any other parent company.

Constellation accounts for more investment than any other parent company, with more than $42 million worth of maintenance slated to kick off before the end of June.
