SUGAR LAND–April 14, 2026– Written by Eric Funderburk for IIR News Intelligence (Sugar Land, Texas)–Offshore wind developer Vineyard Wind has filed a lawsuit to prevent turbine-maker GE Renewables from exiting the project at a late stage, which Vineyard attorneys claim would leave “a dormant wind farm graveyard.” At issue is the nonpayment of funds from Vineyard to GE that Vineyard says it is withholding because of construction delays primarily caused by a blade failure on one of the turbines in the summer of 2024.
