Oman Targets 12 GW of Renewable Energy Capacity by 2031



NEW DELHI–February 26, 2026–Researched by IIR News Intelligence (Sugar Land, Texas)–The Sultanate of Oman is seeking to reduce its long-standing dependence on natural gas by building a diversified electricity mix anchored in clean and renewable sources. Under Oman’s energy roadmap, renewable energy is expected to account for 30-40% of total power generation by 2030, rising to 60-70% by 2040, with a long-term goal of achieving a fully renewable energy system by 2050.
