Several expansions are planned in the production of propylene, polybutadiene and other chemicals.
Industrial Info is tracking about $2.9 billion worth of active and proposed projects from LyondellBasell, more than 85% of which is attributed to projects in North America. LyondellBasell executives pointed to a host of factors pressuring margins, including global trade disruptions, low demand for durable goods, a lower oil-to-gas ratio, increased competition from imports, and structurally higher energy costs.
