Since their first iteration was released in 2016, AirPods have set the bar in terms of wireless earbud design. In the following nine years a number of wireless earbuds have come out from high-quality audio brands like Bose and Sony, but for the casual wearer, Apple AirPods are pretty unparalleled when it comes to user interface, brand trust, and innovation.

Apple is known for incremental advancements with new model rollouts, and the AirPods 4 are no exception. The latest AirPods feature a USB-C port, a Find My speaker, and a number of customizable audio features like Spacial Audio to ensure the best listening experience for every environment. The AirPods 4 are available in two tiers, with the main difference being active noise cancellation and various other sound features for the pricier option. However, with the current Cyber Monday sale, the upgraded AirPods 4 are just $10 more than the entry-level pair.

In her review, ZDNET associate editor Allison Jewell writes that the AirPods 4 have a smaller and more portable case than their prior model, along with a built-in speaker for compatibility with the Find My program. They also have 30 hours of battery life, and “allow you to shake your head ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to Siri requests,” wrote Jewell.

Other features of the ANC AirPods 4 include an H2 chip, which “ensures enhanced audio quality, noise cancellation, audio processing, microphone quality, and better integration with Siri,” wrote ZDNET editor Jada Jones. She also noted that the AirPods 4 have “force sensors on the earbud stem, meaning a series of short and long presses on the stem completes audio commands like play, pause, track skip, and more.”

How I rated this deal

This deal is a pretty good one, especially considering that Apple products rarely go on sale, and the AirPods 4 are the most recent iteration. They’re still not inexpensive, but if you’ve been on the fence about trying some of the newer features on wireless earbuds, now is a great time to see if it’s a fit.

We’re not sure how long this deal will last, though Apple products are rarely on sale for very long, so it’s best to act fast.
