Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the pavilion of the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC) at Bharat Parv 2026 in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on October 30, highlighting the country’s rich handloom and handicraft heritage and efforts to empower traditional artisans and weavers.
The CCIC, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Textiles, is participating in the ongoing Bharat Parv 2026, where it is showcasing India’s diverse traditional crafts and indigenous art forms.
During his visit, the Prime Minister witnessed the Corporation’s initiatives aimed at providing artisans and weavers with better market access and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The pavilion highlights CCIC’s contribution to the government’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local to Global’ by connecting traditional Indian craftsmanship with wider domestic and international markets.
The pavilion also showcases the skills of artisans from different parts of the country, including traditional artwork from Gujarat. Visitors can explore intricate creations made using Agate and semi-precious stones, along with traditional Appliqué work.
CCIC Managing Director Bimal Gopalachari, officials of the Corporation, and participating artisans and weavers were present during the Prime Minister’s visit.
The exhibition brings together a wide range of handcrafted and handloom products, reflecting India’s cultural diversity, artistic traditions and indigenous craftsmanship. Through the initiative, CCIC aims to provide greater visibility to traditional art forms while creating opportunities for artisans to reach broader markets.
Bharat Parv 2026 provides a platform to showcase India’s cultural heritage, traditional industries and craftsmanship. The CCIC exhibition will remain open to visitors until November 15, 2026, at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat.
