Thurrock £1m EuroMillions winner finally claims prize

The winner of a £1m lottery jackpot has claimed their prize, ending a three-and-a-half week search to locate them.

The ticket-holder, from Thurrock, Essex, netted the huge EuroMillions reward on 13 October, but initially failed to come forward to claim the prize.

They have since been located and their claim would now go through a validation process, the National Lottery said.

“Just imagine the kind of Christmas this lucky winner could now be planning,” added senior winners’ adviser Andy Carter.
